Visiting the World Heritage Site of Saltaire
Saltaire was built by textile magnate, Sir Titus Salt, who built a huge mill, neat stone houses for his workers and everything else they would need, including schools, shops and a hospital.
All the buildings in Saltaire Village are Grade II listed with the exception of the church on Victoria Road, which is Grade I. The Village has survived remarkably intact. Saltaire is defined by its architectural beauty with some buildings modelled on an Italianate style. Saltaire is within easy reach of Leeds, Bradford, Ilkley and Brontë Country.
